Eligibility Information
Who Is Eligible to Enroll?
All full-time employees working 30 hours or more per week are eligible for group benefits effective their date of hire. Example: If you are hired on January 12th, your benefits begin on January 12th.
Eligible Dependents
- Legal spouse or domestic partner
- Dependent child(ren) up to age 26 (regardless of student or marital status), including stepchildren, legally adopted children, children of a domestic partner, or a child for whom you or your spouse/domestic partner are the legal guardian
- Unmarried child(ren) age 26 or older who are mentally or physically disabled and who rely on you for full support and care. Certain documentation is required.
Qualifying Events
After Open Enrollment, you may change your benefit elections only if you experience a qualifying event. Examples of qualifying events include changes in:
- Marital status (marriage, divorce, legal separation)
- Number of dependent children (birth, adoption, placement for adoption, named legal guardian)
- Employment status (part-time to full-time)
- Dependent status (child reaches maximum age)
- Eligibility status (you or your spouse experience a change in hours, job loss, getting a new job, or become entitled to Medicare or Medicaid)
You must submit your change request to your HR team within 30 days of the qualifying event.
Enrollment Information
All benefits enrollment is completed online through Rippling. Whether you are a new employee enrolling for the first time or making changes during Open Enrollment or after a qualifying life event, Rippling is your one-stop portal for selecting and managing your benefits.
How to Log In to Rippling
Via Web Browser
- Go to app.rippling.com
- Enter the personal email address you used to register your Rippling account, then click Continue
- Enter your password and click Sign In
- Verify your identity via one-time code, authenticator app, or passkey depending on your setup
Via the Rippling Mobile App
- Download the Rippling app from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android)
- Open the app and tap Log In
- You will be redirected to your phone’s web browser to complete login
- Enter your email, password, and verify your identity

When to Enroll
New Employees
You must complete your benefit elections within 30 days of your start date. Coverage is effective the first of the month on or after your hire date. If you miss this window, you will not be able to enroll until the next Open Enrollment period unless you experience a qualifying life event.
Open Enrollment
Open Enrollment occurs annually and is your opportunity to review and update your benefit elections for the coming plan year. Watch for communications from HR with your enrollment window dates.
Qualifying Life Events
Outside of Open Enrollment, you may update your elections within 30 days of a qualifying life event, such as:
- Marriage, divorce, or legal separation
- Birth, adoption, or placement for adoption of a child
- Loss of other health coverage
- A dependent reaching the maximum age limit
- Change in employment status for you or your spouse
Changes take effect the first of the month following the qualifying event. Submit your change request to HR at Kenzie@semgrep.com within 30 days of the event.
