Semgrep provides both Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) coverage through Guardian at no cost to you. These plans work together to replace a portion of your income if you are unable to work due to a non-job-related illness, injury, or medical condition.
Note: Earnings are defined as your base weekly or monthly salary, excluding bonuses, commissions, expense accounts, and any other extra compensation.
Short-Term Disability (STD)
Provides temporary income replacement while you recover from a covered illness or injury.

Important Notes
- Pre-existing conditions: If you become disabled during the first 12 months of coverage due to a pre-existing condition, benefits may not be payable.
- Coverage effective date: The first day of the month following your date of hire, or coinciding with the 1st of the month.
- LTD mental health / substance use: Duration of payments for disabilities caused by mental or emotional conditions, or alcohol or drug abuse, may be limited.
- Job-related injuries: Neither STD nor LTD pays benefits for injuries or conditions covered by Workers’ Compensation.
